The Concerto for English Horn and Viola in G Minor is an arrangement of J S Bach's Concerto for Oboe and Violin in C Minor, BWV 1060. With the exception of the English Horn, it is scored for an ensemble consisting of instruments commonly used to perform Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 6. (Lower Strings and Cembalo - no Violins).

The concerto may also be performed as a Double Viola Concerto. In this case, the optional Solo Viola 2 part takes the place of the English Horn.

The Piano Reduction and the Cembalo parts are the original work of the arranger and adapted to the unique character of the arrangement.

This concerto arrangement represents a significant addition to solo viola and solo english horn repertoire from the Baroque period, for which there are few choices.

ENLARGEMENT: It is strongly recommended that parts be enlarged to fit paper sizes larger than 8.5 x 11 inches (aka US Letter or A4). 9 x 12 inch paper is an excellent choice for parts (aka Concert or C4). 10 x 14 inch paper is ideal for the Conductor’s Score (aka B4). Custom size paper is also a possibility. Regardless of paper size, be sure to choose "Fit to Page" in the printer settings.

COVERS: The Full Score, Piano Reduction, Solo Parts and Cembalo are designed to receive card stock covers, front and back. Violas 1 & 2, Cello and Bass do not require covers.

BINDINGS: Margins are adjusted to receive standard coil or comb bindings. With pages in order and facing up, the left side receives the binding.
